Velas Group History. Committed to differentiating its projects through premier locations, exceptional design, award-winning amenities and the finest service throughout Mexico, the Velas Group opened its first hotel, Velas Vallarta Suite Resort & Convention Center, in 1989.

Fourteen years later, Grand Velas All Suites & Spa Resort opened its doors in Nuevo Vallarta. This exquisite resort in the heart of Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit is the epitome of luxury. A distinguished member of Leading Hotels of the World and Leading Spas, Grand Velas Puerto Vallarta has received numerous awards ranging from the AAA Five Diamond Award to the Most Outstanding Resort and Most Excellent Spa Hotel award from Conde Nast Johansens.

The Velas group continues to grow its unique brand of hospitality by launching its newest and most ambitious project to date - Grand Velas Riviera Maya.
